Liberty Preparatory Academy or LPA is a recovery high school for students ages 14-21. Our goal at LPA is to support students to remain in recovery while they enhance academic and social emotional skills in order to be college/career ready.
LPA offers small class sizes, time to receive extra help and time focused on recovery activities with our highly qualified, DESE licensed staff. Students will follow a comprehensive academic curriculum that is consistent with MA Frameworks and all DESE regulations for students with 504’s and IEP’s are observed. We work closely with the student’s sending school to comply with their graduation requirements, MCAS testing is available.
We offer weekly individual academic check-in sessions to discuss any concerns or achievements. In these meetings, students explore post- graduation goals. Using the program, Naviance, students become informed of the requirements necessary to reach these goals.
Our students take time each week to speak individually with our experienced recovery coach. These sessions allow students to share their hopes and anxieties about their future involving substance use. Our recovery coach offers advice and techniques to help them stay safe and healthy.
LPA has a strong relationship with the parents/guardians/caretakers of the students we are working with. We send individual weekly updates regarding the students current academic/social emotional/sobriety status.
We encourage family members/caretakers/school employees/ DYS & DCF employees to refer students struggling with substance use. The process is simple and may change that young person’s life. They won’t need to choose between graduating high school or finding help with their substance related issues, with LPA they can do both!
